Strategic Alliance for Future Skills: NELT Group and UNICEF Join Forces

NELT Group and UNICEF have joined forces in a strategic partnership to empower the youth with essential skills for a rapidly changing world

In a landmark collaboration, NELT Group and UNICEF have unveiled a strategic partnership aimed at equipping children and youths in Serbia, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Angola with essential 21st-century skills. This initiative, backed by a $1.3 million investment over three years, represents the most extensive cooperation between UNICEF and a Serbian company to date.

As the world rapidly evolves, the success of the younger generation hinges on their ability to master modern skills and knowledge. With technologies driving global progress and shaping the future of work, digital literacy has become indispensable for thriving in the digital era.

Miloš Jelić, CEO of NELT Group

In Serbia, the partnership will benefit 15,000 children across 30 schools by enhancing their digital skills, which are crucial for their future success. In North Macedonia, 500 students will gain valuable employability skills, while over 8,100 will acquire “green” skills essential for sustainable development. Meanwhile, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, more than 5,000 students will develop key 21st-century skills to prepare them for future challenges and opportunities.

Deyana Kostadinova, UNICEF’s Director in Serbia

“Children around the world have immense potential to drive positive change. It is vital to provide them with the necessary skills and support to become future innovators and change-makers,” said Deyana Kostadinova, UNICEF’s Director in Serbia. “Investing in children today is the safest way to ensure a better tomorrow for everyone. When you invest in UNICEF’s programs and systems that help children, entire communities and economies benefit. We are extremely grateful to NELT Group for their vision, trust, and desire to achieve great things. They are leading by example, showing how corporations can shape the future and make the world a better place.”

This collaboration between NELT Group and UNICEF addresses the pressing global issue of youth unemployment and the urgent need for educational systems to effectively integrate technologies. By leveraging the expertise of both organizations, this partnership strives to create a brighter future for the next generations.

“NELT Group is committed to creating meaningful change in our communities,” stated Miloš Jelić, CEO of NELT Group. “Through our cooperation with UNICEF, we are strategically investing in empowering children and young people with basic 21st-century skills. These are crucial for understanding our times and meeting the growing demands of the labor market. This partnership is designed to prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow and ensure they are ready to take advantage of the opportunities that come their way and contribute as the leaders of the future.”

The business sector plays a crucial role in building resilient communities. By investing in the education and skill development of children and youths, companies not only contribute to social well-being but also secure their long-term success in an increasingly competitive and dynamic global economy.

Together, NELT Group and UNICEF are committed to investing in the future, building stronger and more resilient societies through empowering children and young people with the knowledge and skills they need to progress in the 21st century and beyond. Together, they are building a brighter future for the next generations.
