Slovenia’s Intereuropa has unveiled a new rail connection linking the Port of Koper with the Nelt terminal in Dobanovci, Belgrade, in what the company describes as an advanced intermodal solution aimed at enhancing efficiency and cutting costs.
The new rail link offers customers significant savings by combining rail and road transport, reducing expenses associated with fuel, tolls, and road congestion. According to Intereuropa, this approach not only lowers costs but also increases capacity while minimizing the need for additional handling of goods—an essential factor for modern logistics.
By prioritizing rail over road transport, the service also addresses environmental concerns, cutting carbon dioxide emissions and supporting businesses committed to sustainable operations. Intereuropa’s statement highlighted the importance of intermodal solutions in reducing carbon footprints and meeting the growing demand for eco-conscious supply chains.
