Serbia’s video game sector has scored big in 2024, recording an impressive €214 million in revenue — a 22% increase year-on-year, according to the latest industry report unveiled at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
Behind this surge lies a maturing ecosystem of 4,500 professionals, 31% of whom are women — putting Serbia among Europe’s most gender-diverse gaming hubs.
With 44 new titles launched and 84 in development, local studios are showing creative resilience despite global disruptions and post-Covid aftershocks.
Yet, the report reveals only 10% of top-tier revenue stems from domestically-owned companies, raising questions about value retention.
Still, with 78% of studios now harnessing AI and storytelling seen as a rising strength, industry leaders are calling for smarter strategies to support both local innovators and globally integrated teams.
Serbia’s gaming future, it seems, is ready for its next level.
