Cybercriminals Exploit Dubai Chocolate Craze to Con Consumers Worldwide

As the demand for Dubai chocolate skyrockets, cybercriminals are using fake websites and phishing scams to exploit eager buyers, leaving them with nothing but disappointment

The insatiable global appetite for Dubai chocolate has sparked a wave of online fraud, as cybercriminals capitalize on the trend to deceive unsuspecting consumers.

Security experts at Kaspersky have uncovered a series of sophisticated scams targeting buyers in the UAE and beyond.

Fraudsters have replicated popular delivery services like Deliveroo and Dubai’s own Fix Dessert Chocolatie, luring victims to counterfeit sites that promise luxury chocolate, only for the purchases to vanish after payment.

These criminals prey on consumer trust, using fake e-commerce platforms that mimic real brands, and their tactics are evolving fast. Some scams involve shady pop-up ads and phishing emails, directing users to fake stores that promise indulgence but deliver nothing.

As experts warn, shoppers must scrutinise every online deal to avoid falling prey to such deceptions. Checking URLs, verifying reviews, and steering clear of too-good-to-be-true offers can go a long way in safeguarding your wallet from these fraudulent schemes.
