Chinese President Xi Jinping Scheduled for Official Visit to Serbia

Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming official visit to Serbia on 7-8 May signals a renewed focus on bilateral relations and economic cooperation

Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to embark on an official visit to Serbia on May 7-8, as announced by the press office of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

This upcoming visit marks President Xi’s return to Serbia since his last trip in 2016, which notably was the first by a Chinese president in over three decades.

The relationship between President Vucic and Xi has seen recent engagement, notably during their meeting at the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing last October, where Serbia and China sealed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

President Vucic, welcoming Xi’s impending visit, lauded the Chinese leader as one of the world’s prominent figures and a steadfast ally of Serbia, expressing eagerness to ensure a warm and hospitable reception.
