Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has become a key player in the global automotive supply chain, producing parts for iconic brands like Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Ferrari.
Last year alone, the country exported auto-parts worth 678.5 million KM, a remarkable increase from 2019’s 410.7 million KM.
BiH manufactures a diverse range of components, including engines, suspension systems, exhausts, and even electronics, many of which are crucial to both traditional and electric vehicles.
The industry’s resilience stands in stark contrast to the European automotive sector, struggling under the shift to electric vehicles and economic downturns.
Yet BiH’s auto-part manufacturers have shown remarkable adaptability, with major export markets in Germany, Austria, and Italy.
Economic experts call for diversification beyond European markets, urging BiH to explore new global frontiers in a sector poised for future growth and innovation.
