Petrol Group to Install 40 Ultra-Fast EV Charging Points Across Croatia

Petrol Group's bold initiative to install 40 ultra-fast EV charging points across Croatia marks a significant step towards sustainable mobility in the region

The Petrol Group has announced an ambitious plan to deploy 40 ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging points throughout the Republic of Croatia. These cutting-edge charging stations will be strategically located at 15 key Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) sites across Croatia, with eight designated specifically for heavy-duty electric vehicles (HDVs).

In a broader regional initiative, the Slovenian energy giant will also establish 65 charging points across 20 vital TEN-T locations in neighbouring Slovenia, featuring power outputs ranging from 150 kW to 350 kW. Notably, nine of these stations will cater to the needs of heavy electric vehicles, further solidifying Petrol’s commitment to advancing sustainable mobility infrastructure.

This initiative has financial backing of 34 million euros in grants from the EU, supplemented by an additional investment of 130 million euros from project partners

This extensive network expansion is part of the European-wide CROSS-E initiative, aimed at facilitating the widespread adoption of electric vehicles and bolstering Europe’s journey towards a climate-neutral continent. Under the auspices of the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), a consortium comprising Petrol Group, Allegro, GreenWay, and Emobility Solutions has been selected to lead the CROSS-E initiative across eight EU Member States.

With a substantial financial backing of 34 million euros in grants from the EU, supplemented by an additional investment of 130 million euros from project partners, Petrol Group and its collaborators are poised to revolutionize the electric vehicle charging landscape, ensuring seamless connectivity and accessibility for drivers across Croatia and beyond.
