According to the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG), the plant has reported its highest annual production ever. In 2023, TPP Pljevlja generated a record 1.641.598 MWh at the generator, delivering 1.505.443 MWh of electricity to the grid.
Remarkably, the power plant experienced its longest uninterrupted operation period in its history. The plant has been continuously operational for over 230 days since 5th June 2023, following its synchronization to the grid after regular annual maintenance.
The year 2023 also saw the plant endure only a single unplanned outage, a significant reduction from its average annual unplanned outages of seven since its inception. This achievement underlines the plant’s enhanced operational reliability.
Furthermore, TPP Pljevlja achieved its highest number of operational hours in a single calendar year, being on the grid for 7,500 hours. The average power at the generator stood at 218.9 MW, with an average power output of 200.72 MW.
Zoran Sljukic, acting Executive Director of EPCG, extended his congratulations to the management and staff of TPP Pljevlja for their responsible work in achieving these historic results.
EPCG also acknowledges the significant contribution of the leadership and workers at the Pljevlja Coal Mine. Overcoming the challenges of mining, they supplied the power plant with a record-breaking 1.638.289 tons of coal, averaging a calorific value of 9.673kJ/kg.
