Wizz Air Chooses Podgorica as New Base

Roko Tolić, CEO of Airports of Montenegro, has hailed the decision of Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air to establish a new base in Podgorica as a historic milestone for the country’s aviation sector.

He emphasized that this move will significantly boost air connectivity, reaching levels Montenegro has never experienced before. The announcement comes during a year when the airports are achieving record-breaking results, building on the previous year, which was the best in the country’s aviation history.

Tolić highlighted that Wizz Air’s investment will not only improve accessibility but also bring substantial economic benefits, attracting new routes and increasing tourist inflow.

He described the airline’s decision as a transformative development that positions Montenegro as a more connected and competitive regional hub.

This step is seen as part of a broader strategy to modernize and expand the country’s aviation infrastructure, ensuring long-term growth and increased international integration for Montenegro.
