Henkel Launches New Production Facility in Maribor with €10 Million Investment

Henkel has inaugurated a new €10 million production facility in Maribor, Slovenia, enhancing its European Centre of Excellence for hair colorants

Henkel has inaugurated a new production space at its European Centre of Excellence for hair colorants in Maribor, Slovenia, marking a significant investment of more than €10 million, partly funded with €2.1 million of European funds. Gregor Majcen, the director of the Slovenian subsidiary of the Germany-based multinational, announced the investment at the opening ceremony attended by Slovenia’s Economy Minister, Matjaž Han.

Minister Han highlighted the investment as a directional move for Slovenia’s future development, emphasizing the strategic partnership with Germany and Slovenia’s increasing appeal to foreign investments. “We supported this project with European funds as we believe this direction of development is a great opportunity not just for Maribor, but for the entire country,” Han stated.

The Maribor plant, a key industrial entity in the region, annually produces over 260 million products, dispatching 25 trucks daily from its warehouse to over 30 countries

Marko Mintas, President of Henkel Adria, commented on the milestone, “This showcases our strong local presence in Slovenia and the Adria region, underscoring our commitment to supporting the local economy and communities.”

The new facility represents the largest single investment in the Maribor site in three decades and marks a pivotal point for Henkel, promising to boost production volumes and employment opportunities.

This new development is expected to enhance Henkel’s production capabilities significantly, strengthening its global and local market presence.
