Medis Triumphs with German Economic Award

Medis, a leading Slovenian pharmaceutical distributor, clinches the prestigious German Economic Award, recognising its commitment to employee wellbeing and sustainable business practices

Medis, a Slovenian company known for distributing innovative medicines and medical devices, has been honoured with the 2025 German Economic Award, presented by the German-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and the German Embassy.

The award, focused this year on outstanding employers, highlights Medis’ dedication to fostering an inclusive, sustainable workplace environment.

Founded in 1989, Medis employs nearly 400 people across its global operations.

The company’s leadership places significant emphasis on employee engagement, with a focus on open communication and decision-making inclusion.

Finalists for the award included the Slovenian branch of Bayer, laboratory equipment supplier Mikro+Polo, and BSH Hišni Aparati.

The award underscores not only business success but also values such as innovation and responsibility towards employees.

As Minister Matjaž Han noted, Slovenia and Germany’s economic partnership is poised to tackle future challenges together, with a strong commitment to collaboration over protectionism.
