Slovenia Introduces A Label For Fully Domestic Food Products

New packaging mark will highlight products entirely produced in the country

Shoppers in Slovenia will soon be able to identify fully domestic food products more easily, as items produced entirely in the country will carry the Slovenian flag on their packaging. The new label can be used from 21 March for agricultural and food products that are produced, processed and packaged domestically.

The initiative aims to help consumers distinguish genuinely local products from those that may only be packaged in Slovenia.

According to the Slovenian Ministry of Agriculture, the label will mark food that is truly grown, raised and processed in the country, while also supporting local farmers and producers.

Use of the label will be voluntary and limited to products that already belong to recognised quality schemes, such as organic certification or protected origin labels. Authorities say the measure will strengthen the visibility and reputation of Slovenian food products both domestically and abroad.
