Adria’s new luxury hotspot rises in Poreč

Valamar’s flagship Pical Resort blends high-end hospitality, gastronomy and events into one of the Adriatic’s most ambitious new destinations

The Adriatic has a new contender for its most talked-about destination. In Poreč, Valamar has opened the five-star Pical Resort, a large-scale luxury complex set within the Parenzana Beachfront park, just minutes from the historic old town. The concept draws on regional heritage while positioning itself firmly in the contemporary premium travel space.

The resort operates as a multi-concept destination, combining premium suites, a family-focused hotel and a central lifestyle property across 514 accommodation units. Its offering spans from all-inclusive family apartments to swim-up rooms and high-end suites, supported by extensive facilities including themed beaches, multiple pools, an infinity pool by the sea and a flagship ESPA wellness centre.

Gastronomy is a key differentiator. A diverse portfolio of restaurants and bars blends Istrian ingredients with modern culinary concepts, from fine dining at Harry’s Piccolo to open-fire cooking and Asian-inspired beachside dining. The aim is clear: to position Pical not just as a place to stay, but as a destination to experience.

The resort also targets business and family segments with equal ambition. Its event centre, the largest in Istria, can host up to 1,200 participants, while large-scale indoor and outdoor entertainment zones cater to younger guests. With strong early interest and a layered, experience-driven concept, Pical Resort is already emerging as one of the Adriatic’s defining destinations for the season ahead.
