In a dazzling display of mathematical prowess, Serbian students stormed the international STEMCO Olympiad in Singapore, clinching eight medals—including two absolute victories.
From 17 to 22 June, the Serbian delegation, led by Professor Ivana Milošević of the elite Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade, proved a formidable force on the global stage.
Gold and glory went to Jelisaveta Srdić and Vasilije Hadži-Purić, both crowned absolute champions of the Olympiad.
Their peers from the same institution and across Serbia followed suit: Dimitrije Jelić took silver, while Maksim Šikanić of Šabac’s Nikolaj Velimirović Primary School earned gold.
Other medallists include Milica Stanojević (bronze), Naum Matić (silver), Jovana Hadži-Purić (bronze), and Petar Cvetković (silver).
The team’s stunning performance reflects both individual brilliance and the power of mentorship—credit to Milošević’s leadership and Serbia’s deep investment in STEM talent.
