Serbia Sees Surge in Foreign Tourists

Despite a slight dip in overall tourism, Serbia's February 2025 statistics reveal a rising influx of foreign visitors, with Russia, China, and neighbouring Balkan countries topping the list

Serbia’s tourism industry showed a mixed performance in February 2025, with a 3.2% decline in overall tourist arrivals compared to the previous year.

However, the country’s foreign visitor numbers reached 122,380—an increase of 4.4%, reflecting a strong recovery in international interest.

This growth was largely driven by tourists from Russia, China, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia, who sought out Serbia’s renowned spas and mountainous resorts.

While domestic tourism saw a sharp decrease, with a 9.3% drop, the foreign market proved resilient.

Foreign tourists accounted for 378,051 overnight stays, up 8.1% from the same period in 2024.

Serbia’s most visited destinations included Vrnjačka Banja, Kopaonik, and Zlatibor, popular for their healing waters and picturesque landscapes.

As the country continues to attract international visitors, the tourism sector remains a key pillar of Serbia’s economic growth.
