Petrol Increases Stake in Geoplin to 99.35%

Petrol and Slovenia, represented by Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SDH), completed the second stage of their share exchange agreement involving the companies Geoplin and Plinhold, following the fulfillment of delayed conditions.

As a result, Petrol has increased its ownership stake in Geoplin to 99.35% and now holds a 12.72% stake in Plinhold.

According to an announcement on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange website, Petrol and SDH signed the exchange agreement on 14 July 2016. In the first stage, Petrol became the majority owner of Geoplin, while the state took majority control of Plinovodi, and subsequently, the Plinhold company was established. In the meantime, the state retained a 25.01% stake in Geoplin.

On Thursday, the second stage of the exchange agreement was executed, making Petrol nearly the full owner of Slovenia’s natural gas wholesaler—now holding 99.35% of the shares and 99.55% of the voting rights in Geoplin. Meanwhile, Petrol’s ownership in Plinhold has again decreased to 12.72%.
