Pegasus Airlines Launches New Ljubljana–Istanbul Route

Turkish low-cost carrier adds three weekly flights, strengthening air links between Slovenia and Turkey

Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines has officially started direct flights between Ljubljana and Istanbul, with services launching on January 26, 2026. The new route connects Slovenia’s capital with Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport three times a week — on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays — using Airbus aircraft, offering passengers more options for travel between the two cities.

The service is part of Pegasus’ broader expansion in the Balkans and aims to improve connectivity for both leisure and business travellers.

With this new link, passengers from Ljubljana can reach one of Turkey’s major aviation hubs, opening up connections to destinations across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Tickets for the route are already on sale, including promotional fares for the launch period.

Ljubljana Airport and airline representatives have welcomed the addition as a boost to the region’s air network, enhancing travel choices alongside existing flights operated by other carriers. The route not only supports tourism but also strengthens economic and cultural ties between Slovenia and Turkey.
