New Database of Slovenian Startups Launched to Boost Visibility and Growth

A new national database bringing together Slovenian startups in one place has been launched in a bid to increase visibility, strengthen connections within the ecosystem and showcase the country’s innovation potential.

The initiative, known as Startup Plus, was developed by the Start:up Slovenia initiative and the Slovene Enterprise Fund. The online platform currently features around 150 startups and scaleups, offering information about companies, their sectors, technologies and development stages. Organisers say the database is designed to help entrepreneurs, investors, corporations and international partners more easily identify promising Slovenian businesses and collaboration opportunities.

The platform arrives at a time when Slovenia’s startup ecosystem continues to expand, particularly in fields such as artificial intelligence, software development, green technologies, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing. By centralising information that was previously scattered across different sources, the database aims to provide a clearer overview of the country’s entrepreneurial landscape and support the international promotion of Slovenian innovation.

According to the creators of the project, greater visibility is often one of the key challenges facing young companies. Many startups struggle to attract investment, talent and strategic partners despite developing competitive products and technologies. The new database is intended to address that issue by making Slovenian startups easier to discover for both domestic and foreign stakeholders.

The launch reflects broader efforts to position Slovenia as a regional innovation hub and strengthen its reputation within Europe’s technology and entrepreneurship sectors. Supporters of the initiative believe that improved networking, easier access to information and stronger international exposure could help accelerate the growth of Slovenian startups and contribute to the country’s long-term economic development.
