First Serbia-Canada Business Forum Broadcasts New Opportunities

The first Serbia-Canada Business Forum in Toronto marked a new chapter in economic relations between the two countries, with a strong focus on innovation, artificial intelligence, energy and high-tech industries.

The event brought together around 40 business representatives from nearly 30 Serbian companies, alongside more than 50 Canadian companies and institutions. During a series of B2B meetings, participants explored opportunities for new partnerships, investments and joint projects aimed at strengthening commercial ties between the two markets.

Speaking at the forum, Mihailo Vesović, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, highlighted Serbia’s stable and competitive business environment, strong engineering and technological capabilities, and its growing role as a regional hub for innovation and the digital economy. Particular attention was given to cooperation in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, sectors in which Serbian companies are increasingly gaining recognition in North America.

The forum also featured presentations of GITEX AI Serbia, a new international exhibition dedicated to artificial intelligence and innovation, as well as EXPO 2027 Belgrade, which was promoted as a global platform connecting economies, technologies and people from around the world. Organisers also encouraged Canada to participate in the upcoming exhibition.

The gathering was supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Embassy of Serbia in Canada. The Serbian delegation arrived on the first direct Air Serbia flight between Belgrade and Toronto in 34 years, underscoring growing connectivity and business ties between the two countries.
