EasyJet Strengthens Its Footprint in Slovenia With Acquisition of Adria Tehnika

UK low-cost carrier expands in-house maintenance capabilities at Ljubljana Airport

EasyJet has agreed to acquire Adria Tehnika, the aircraft maintenance provider based at Ljubljana Airport, further solidifying its presence in Slovenia’s aviation sector. The deal, expected to close in early 2026 pending regulatory approval, is part of the airline’s broader strategy to bring more engineering operations in-house following its recent takeover of SR Technics Malta. Although the purchase price remains undisclosed, EasyJet confirmed it plans long-term investments in the Slovenian facility.

Adria Tehnika has maintained EasyJet’s Airbus fleet for nearly a decade, completing more than 200 heavy maintenance checks. The company employs around 250 staff and operates five maintenance bays, making it one of the key MRO hubs in the region.

CEO Barbara Perko Brvar will continue to lead the firm after the acquisition, underscoring continuity as the company transitions from its current owner, Czech investment group Hartenberg Holding.

The acquisition also comes as EasyJet boosts its operational presence in Slovenia. The carrier currently links Ljubljana with London Gatwick and Manchester and will add Edinburgh next spring, with further network expansion reportedly under consideration.
