Croatia Launches Its First Satellite into Orbit

Croatia joins Europe’s space club with historic satellite launch

After two delays, Croatia has successfully launched its first satellite, CroCube, into Earth’s orbit aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 spacecraft. The historic launch took place from California, marking Croatia’s entry into the exclusive group of European nations with a presence in space.

Designed entirely in Croatia, the CroCube satellite will orbit 510 kilometres for the next two years, capturing images of Earth and conducting scientific measurements. Equipped with advanced imaging technology, it has already transmitted its first data to Croatia, signalling a promising start for the country’s foray into space exploration.

This milestone showcases Croatia’s growing innovation capacity and ambition to establish itself in the global space industry.
