Bosnia and Herzegovina Approves Law for Sunday Shops Closure

Bosnia and Herzegovina has approved a new Draft Law on Internal Trade, setting Sundays as a non-working day for retail stores in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The law passed with strong support, with 55 votes in favor, one against, and three abstentions.

The law will come into effect eight days after its publication in the FBiH Official Gazette, and businesses will have six months to align with the new requirements. 

Although the law addresses several trade-related issues, the spotlight has remained on the Sunday closure rule, which has already earned it the informal title of the “working Sunday law.”
