Bosnia and Herzegovina Advances Armed Forces Modernization

The country launches multi-year projects to procure helicopters, specialized vehicles, ammunition, and new field uniforms to strengthen military capabilities.

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has approved several multi-year modernization projects for the Armed Forces, including the purchase of 46 specialized vehicles to replace outdated M113 A2 armored personnel carriers, as well as helicopters, ammunition, and new field uniforms. The vehicle procurement project is estimated at around five million euros and will run from 2025 to 2030, while the helicopter project has been extended to 2032 with additional funding secured through the 2025 budget.

In addition, the Armed Forces will replenish ammunition and explosive reserves with a project valued at 10.035 million BAM and introduce a new field uniform with a budget of 8.6 million BAM, spread across 2025–2028. These initiatives aim to maintain operability, enhance safety, and modernize the military infrastructure of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
