The scenic route will traverse Bosnia and Herzegovina’s stunning landscapes and southern Croatia

A new 350-kilometre cycling route connectiig Sarajevo and Dubrovnik is set to open, showcasing the stunning landscapes of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and southern Croatia. This ambitious project, driven by the HercegovinaBike association, Visit Konjic, and supported by the EU Delegation in BiH, aims to boost tourism, local economies, and sustainable development.

Funded under the “EU for Local Communities” programme, the route will take cyclists through breathtaking areas such as Bjelašnica, Boračko Lake, and Mostar, before linking to Croatia’s historic “Ćiro’s Path” railway route, leading all the way to Dubrovnik. As part of a wider initiative to integrate BiH into the Eurovelo network, the route will enhance the Balkans’ appeal as a cycling destination, attracting international tourists while fostering regional collaboration.

This project promises to be a key driver of economic growth, sustainable tourism, and a stronger regional identity for both countries.
