Montenegro Secures €80 Million Development Loan from World Bank for Economic Growth

Montenegro has secured an €80 million development loan from the World Bank to drive economic growth and enhance long-term stability

Following Montenegro’s completion of challenging reforms jointly established with the World Bank, Finance Minister Novica Vuković has signed a Development Policy Loan (DPL) agreement with the institution, securing €80 million in funding

Vuković noted this as a significant milestone in Montenegro’s pursuit of economic growth and long-term stability, highlighting the partnership with the World Bank as an endorsement of the government’s commitment to fiscal discipline and sustainable development.

The DPL, as explained by the Ministry of Finance, is a financial tool provided by the World Bank to support countries in implementing policy and institutional reforms in areas such as economic management, public sector governance, human development, infrastructure, and environmental protection. This arrangement reflects the World Bank’s support for Montenegro’s efforts toward a more sustainable and resilient future.
