Japan Donates Ambulances and Medical Equipment to BiH

Japan has donated ambulances and medical equipment to healthcare institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, aiming to improve medical services and the well-being of its citizens

The Japanese Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Masami Kinefuchi, met with the Minister of Civil Affairs, Mrs. Dubravka Bošnjak, to officially hand over three ambulance vehicles and medical equipment to healthcare institutions across the country.

The vehicles and equipment were part of a non-refundable aid package worth 100,000,000 Japanese yen, provided through an agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Japan. This donation marks the second phase of aid provided under the agreement, originally signed in 2021, and includes Toyota ambulances valued at 153,810 euros.

The ambulances were allocated to healthcare institutions in Republika Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Brčko District, specifically to the “Sveti Vračevi” Hospital in Bijeljina, “Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić” Cantonal Hospital in Bihać, and the Sub-Department for Public Health in Brčko District. This follows a 2023 donation of medical equipment, including a portable ultrasound scanner, to JZU Bolnica Gradiška.

Ambassador Kinefuchi expressed his hope that the contribution would help improve healthcare services and enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
