PHOENIX Grupa Srbija

From Local Investment to Regional Platform

Share post:

Over almost two decades of operating in Serbia, PHOENIX group has continuously invested in infrastructure, people and expertise. Today, Serbia is one of the Group’s key hubs in the Western Balkans, connecting markets, the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare systems with a common goal – ensuring that patients have access to the therapies they need, when they need them

When PHOENIX group began operating in Serbia almost 18 years ago, it recognised a market with significant development potential. Today, Serbia is much more than a local market. Continuous investment in infrastructure, logistics, digitalisation and employee development has enabled PHOENIX group Serbia to become a regional platform supporting operations across the Western Balkans.

As part of one of Europe’s leading healthcare companies, headquartered in Germany, PHOENIX in Serbia brings together different business segments through PHOENIX Pharma, BENU, Evropa Lek Pharma (EL Pharma), INO-Pharm and transmed Transport, creating an integrated value chain that extends from manufacturers to patients.

Investing In Long-Term Growth

One of the clearest demonstrations of the Group’s confidence in Serbia came with the opening of its Regional Hub for the Western Balkans in 2016. Today, the centre serves as an important link between the region’s markets and as one of PHOENIX group’s key logistics hubs in Southeast Europe. Its further expansion, due to be completed by the end of this year, will provide additional capacity to support regional operations and growth.

The investment cycle is continuing with the construction of the new South Logistics Centre in Leskovac. Beyond expanding the company’s operational capacity, this investment will contribute to the development of modern logistics infrastructure and support economic development in southern Serbia.

A Reliable Supply Chain

The stability of any healthcare system depends to a great extent on the reliability of its supply chain. This is why logistics and distribution are among the most important areas of PHOENIX group’s operations.

A regional position is not built overnight. It is the result of long-term investment in people, infrastructure, knowledge and partnerships. This is precisely the path that PHOENIX has pursued in Serbia for almost two decades

Through its network of distribution centres and well-developed delivery system, the company connects pharmaceutical manufacturers with pharmacies, hospitals and healthcare institutions across the country every day. More than 130 million packs of medicines were delivered in 2025 alone, illustrating the scale of the system that helps ensure the continuous availability of therapies to patients throughout Serbia.

Growth Through Innovation And People

Modern healthcare systems are increasingly reliant on digital solutions, and PHOENIX group continues to invest in enhancing the customer experience in this area. The BENU app represents the next step in developing direct relationships with customers, combining pharmaceutical support with digital services and creating new ways to communicate with patients and customers. Nevertheless, people remain the company’s most important resource. More than 3,000 employees, including a large number of healthcare professionals, form the foundation of the company’s development and long-term success. Continuous investment in knowledge, expertise and professional development enables PHOENIX group to respond to the increasingly complex needs of both the market and the healthcare system.

A Partner For Long-Term Development

In the year that the Foreign Investors Council marks 25 years of activity in Serbia, PHOENIX group’s experience demonstrates that the significance of an investment is also measured by what develops from it over the years. From a local market to a regional platform, PHOENIX has built infrastructure, expertise and capacities in Serbia that today connect markets and support healthcare systems across the Western Balkans.
