Kosovo* Confirms Construction of First Domestic Ammunition Factory

Kosovo* officials say the project represents a major step toward strengthening the territory’s defence industry and strategic autonomy.

Officials in Kosovo* have confirmed the start of construction on what will become the territory’s first domestic ammunition factory. According to statements from government representatives, the facility is expected to play an important role in developing local defence production capacities and reducing long-term dependence on foreign suppliers.

The project is being presented as part of broader efforts to strengthen Kosovo*’s security infrastructure and defence industry capabilities amid a changing geopolitical environment in Europe.

Authorities said the factory should contribute to technological development, new jobs and increased industrial capacity linked to the security sector.

Kosovo* officials also emphasized that the initiative is intended to support strategic resilience and improve supply stability for defence-related needs in the future, as many European countries continue increasing investment in domestic military production and security industries.
