Serbia has officially introduced the e-consignment note (e-otpremnica) system, which has entered into force and will become mandatory for all relevant businesses as of January 1. The system is designed to digitally track the movement of goods, replacing paper documentation with a centralized electronic platform managed by the Ministry of Finance.
The e-consignment note will enable state authorities to monitor goods transport in real time, improving tax control and reducing irregularities in trade and logistics.
It is also expected to ease administrative burdens in the long term by standardising procedures and increasing efficiency across supply chains.
According to the ministry, the system represents an important step in Serbia’s broader digitalisation agenda and alignment with modern European practices, contributing to fairer market conditions and stronger fiscal discipline.
