Erdogan Visits Serbia, Hails “Golden Era” of Bilateral Relations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Belgrade, describing the current relationship between Turkey and Serbia as a "golden era" during discussions with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on regional stability and economic cooperation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described relations between Turkey and Serbia as a “golden era” during his visit to Belgrade, where he met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. The two leaders discussed regional stability, emphasizing the importance of peace in the Balkans, particularly in addressing tensions between Serbia and Kosovo. 

Erdogan also reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina, while highlighting the economic ties driving Turkish-Serbian relations. Trade between the two nations has significantly increased, with Turkish investments in Serbia surpassing $400 million and employing nearly 96,000 people.

During the visit, several important agreements were signed, including memorandums on disaster management, employment, energy transition, and cooperation in sports, youth, and media.

Additionally, protocols for cooperation between Belgrade and the Turkish city of Gaziantep, and between the State Archives of Serbia and Turkey, were also established, marking a new phase of collaboration between the two nations.
