Wizz Air Considers New Routes from Montenegro as Officials Push for Greater Connectivity

Officials said a new chapter in Montenegro’s air accessibility could be on the horizon

Montenegrin officials said this week that low-cost airline Wizz Air was considering expanding its operations from the country, following high-level talks aimed at strengthening Montenegro’s air links with Europe.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Transport, Minister Maja Vukićević and Roko Tolić, CEO of Montenegro Airports, met with Wizz Air’s senior management to discuss increasing the number of destinations served from Montenegrin airports.

They reportedly discussed a range of concrete measures to deepen what was described as an already successful cooperation.

Officials said that the potential expansion would support Montenegro’s strategic objective of improving international connectivity through affordable and competitive air travel.

Vukićević was quoted as saying that the ministry remained dedicated to this long-term goal.

It was also noted that increasing Wizz Air’s presence could strengthen the country’s ties with key European markets, opening doors for both tourism and economic development.

The Ministry said the discussions signalled the potential for a new chapter in Montenegro’s air accessibility.
