The approval allows Tesla to introduce its supervised driving technology on Croatian roads, making Croatia the latest European country to authorise the system. The company announced the decision on Tuesday, September 29, saying that implementation would begin shortly.
Despite its name, Full Self-Driving (Supervised) does not mean that Tesla vehicles can operate completely autonomously. Drivers must remain attentive, supervise the system at all times and be ready to take control of the vehicle when necessary.
Croatia joins a growing number of European countries that have approved Tesla’s supervised system. The Netherlands approved the technology in April, while Belgium and several other countries followed, and neighbouring Slovenia also granted approval earlier this month.
The wider European rollout remains gradual, with regulators continuing to assess the technology and its safety. The European Union is also considering whether the system could receive broader approval across the bloc, although concerns have been raised about its ability to exceed speed limits.
