Statkraft Acquires Neoen’s Renewable Projects in Croatia

Statkraft has completed the acquisition of the Croatian renewable energy project portfolio from French firm Neoen, expanding its renewable energy footprint in the region

Norwegian renewable energy producer Statkraft has finalized the acquisition of the Croatian project portfolio of French renewable energy firm Neoen, the company announced on Thursday. This acquisition encompasses all of Neoen’s early-stage projects in Croatia, which include wind farms, solar power plants, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Neoen has been active in Croatia since mid-2020, while Statkraft initiated its operations in the country in 2021. With all necessary regulatory approvals now in place, Statkraft is set to begin the integration process, aiming for a seamless transition and maximizing the combined capabilities of both entities.

Statkraft, a global leader in hydropower and the largest producer of renewable energy in Europe, stated that this move is part of its strategy to accelerate the development of solar and onshore and offshore wind farms, as well as battery storage. The company is focused on speeding up the growth of these technologies in its existing markets, underscoring its commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio.
