The Sarajevo Book Fair, under the theme “Read Me – Book, Memory, Media”, opened its doors yesterday at the Mirza Delibašić Hall and the Youth Center Skenderija.
Running until April 14th, the fair draws book lovers, authors, and publishers from around the world to explore over 10,000 square meters of literary space.
Program Council President Ibrahim Spahić emphasized the importance of books and translation in fostering dialogue, while Centre Skenderija Director Senaj Avdić expressed gratitude to the authors and publishers present.
This year’s guest of honor, Greece, was represented by General Secretary of Contemporary Culture, Eleni Doundulaki, who highlighted the profound role Greek literature plays in global cultural discourse.
Greece’s Ambassador to BiH, Ioanna Efthymiadou, echoed the sentiment, describing literature as a bridge connecting humanity across time and space.
