New Flights Between Ljubljana and Amsterdam

With plans to expand year-round, KLM’s new daily service enhances Slovenia’s global connectivity

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has inaugurated daily flights from Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport to Amsterdam Schiphol, initially a seasonal service with aspirations to continue year-round.

In partnership with Air France and Delta, KLM’s flights will predominantly operate using the Embraer E190, offering 100 seats per journey.

Janez Krašnja, head of airport services at Fraport Slovenia, expressed excitement over the launch, highlighting the improvement in connectivity not just between the two cities, but to a broader network via Schiphol.

This new route complements Transavia’s existing service, which operates four times a week between Ljubljana and Amsterdam, bringing the total number of weekly flights to 11.

The move comes at the start of the summer season, when the airport’s two dozen carriers serve 26 destinations, marking a significant step for Slovenia’s aviation industry.

While currently planned for summer, KLM’s ambitions suggest a shift toward a permanent presence in Slovenia’s skies.
