Montenegro Set to Launch Direct Flights to Bulgaria

Direct air links between Montenegro and Bulgaria could unlock new opportunities for economic cooperation and tourism growth

Montenegro is poised to strengthen its ties with Bulgaria, with plans to introduce direct air routes between the two countries, announced following a meeting between Montenegro’s Minister of Transport, Maja Vukićević, and Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Montenegro, Stefan Dimitrov.

The discussions, focused on improving transport connectivity and fostering tourism, highlighted the mutual benefits of closer collaboration.

Vukićević expressed Montenegro’s readiness to expand its economic relationship with Bulgaria, emphasising that enhancing air travel is a key step towards this goal.

Both sides also explored potential models for improving flight connections, with Vukićević outlining Montenegro’s ongoing and forthcoming infrastructure projects aimed at bolstering its transport network.

As both countries look to recover from the pandemic and invigorate their economies, the new air links could serve as a vital conduit for trade, tourism, and regional development.
