Manchester Reconnects with Ljubljana

Direct flights return after five years, boosting connections between the UK and Slovenia

For the first time since 2019, Manchester will regain its direct air link with Ljubljana this November, thanks to a new service launched by British low-cost carrier EasyJet.

Starting November 4th, the airline will operate flights twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

This new route from Manchester Airport will complement EasyJet’s existing service to London Gatwick from Ljubljana’s Jože Pučnik Airport.

The Manchester-Ljubljana route was last served seasonally by the now-defunct Slovenian airline Adria Airways.

In its final full summer season in 2018, Adria carried 2,651 passengers on the route with a 70.9% load factor, according to EX YU Aviation News.

The announcement comes as Ljubljana Airport continues to see growth.

Fraport Slovenija, the airport operator, reported approximately 370,000 passengers in the first four months of this year, a 1.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

The airport anticipates further growth over the summer, with over 170 weekly flights to 26 destinations.
