Ljubljana’s New Business and Entertainment Hub Unveiled

Aviation mogul Ivo Boscarol has transformed a former multiplex into a €25 million multi-functional centre, set to revitalize Ljubljana's cultural and commercial landscape

Ljubljana’s entertainment scene is undergoing a significant transformation with the opening of Odiseja on 24 June.

The visionary behind this €25 million project, aviation pioneer Ivo Boscarol, has fulfilled his promise to convert Slovenia’s first multiplex cinema, the former Kolosej, into a sprawling 19,000-square-meter multi-functional entertainment and convention centre.

Located within the BTC City shopping centre, Odiseja boasts twelve adaptable cinema and event halls, offering a total of 3,004 seats.

Beyond film screenings, the complex features three halls with advanced LED screens, dedicated areas for dance, yoga, and other sports, alongside spaces for business events and a VIP lounge.

Boscarol, who has been investing in various projects since selling his ultralight aircraft company Pipistrel in 2022, expressed confidence that Odiseja would significantly enhance Ljubljana’s commercial appeal.

He stated that Odiseja was not merely a renovation but a new centre, bringing new energy and establishing a new hub for cinema, cultural, and business events in Ljubljana and Slovenia.

Urša Zupan, executive director of Odisejada, the company jointly led by Boscarol and his daughter Anastasija Taja Boscarol, noted that the centre’s primary offerings would include cinema, theatre, concerts, and conventions, complemented by on-site dining options.

She added that the initial week would cater to families, children, and film enthusiasts, with summer activities planned for kids and numerous concerts scheduled for the autumn.
