Hemofarm Marks 66 Years of Growth, Innovation and Regional Impact

Serbia’s leading pharmaceutical company Hemofarm has marked 66 years of operations, highlighting a legacy of innovation, investment and healthcare development that has made it one of the most successful companies in Southeast Europe.

Founded in 1960 in Vršac, Hemofarm has grown from a local pharmaceutical producer into a regional industry leader and a member of the STADA Group. Today, the company manufactures hundreds of pharmaceutical products and exports to dozens of markets across Europe and beyond, while employing thousands of people throughout the region.

Over the decades, Hemofarm has invested heavily in production capacity, research and development, and workforce training. The company says it has remained committed to improving access to high-quality medicines while supporting the development of Serbia’s healthcare sector and broader economy.

Through continuous modernization and technological upgrades, Hemofarm has established itself as one of the country’s most important industrial exporters.

In addition to its business achievements, the company has built a strong reputation for corporate social responsibility through the work of the Hemofarm Foundation, which has supported numerous healthcare, education and community initiatives. As it celebrates its 66th anniversary, Hemofarm says it remains focused on innovation, sustainability and expanding its contribution to healthcare across the region.
