As Expo Osaka 2025 reaches its halfway point, the momentum shows no sign of slowing. With more than 13 million visitors since opening in April, the world fair is drawing attention not only for its futuristic exhibits, but for its message of global collaboration under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”
At the centre of the sprawling waterfront site stands the Grand Ring, the world’s largest wooden architectural structure, symbolising harmony with nature and technological innovation. More than 160 pavilions—national, thematic, and corporate—explore solutions across three core themes: Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives.
From Spain’s pavilion built using five tonnes of marine plastic waste to India’s blend of ancient wisdom and AI, the Expo is a powerful display of soft power, sustainability, and design. Daily spectacles—from aerial drone ballets to water-light shows—have become crowd favourites, while the introduction of flying car test flights signals a leap toward next-gen mobility.
Looking ahead, participation by organisations like NATO and several upcoming national days reinforce the Expo’s role as a key platform for global dialogue. As the world fair heads into its final months, Expo Osaka is more than an exhibition—it’s a living laboratory for the world we’re building next.
