Dubrovnik’s iconic Gradac Park, the city’s oldest and largest, is embarking on an ambitious renovation, with a €4.4 million investment aimed at reviving its charm while enhancing its functionality.
The project, presented by leading architects and landscape designers, promises to preserve the park’s heritage while introducing modern amenities.
A newly designed children’s playground, an outdoor amphitheatre, and revitalised historic features will complement the green space.
Over 300 new trees, including cypress and pine, will be planted, and 13,000 plants added to further enrich the landscape.
Sustainable features such as rainwater harvesting and improved fire safety systems are integral to the plans.
This renovation, funded by EU ITU mechanisms, marks the first major overhaul since the park’s opening in 1898, ensuring its legacy endures for future generations.
