Slovenia’s Domen Prevc delivered a spectacular performance in the men’s large hill ski jumping event at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, capturing the gold medal after an incredible final jump that lifted him from second place into the top spot. Despite rainy conditions, Prevc flew 141.5 meters (about 464 feet) — the longest jump of the night — to outscore Japan’s Ren Nikaido (silver) and Poland’s Kacper Tomasiak (bronze).
The victory marks Prevc’s second Olympic gold at these Games, following his earlier triumph in the mixed team event alongside his sister, Nika Prevc, and adds to his status as one of the world’s best ski jumpers.
Entering the competition as favorite and reigning large hill world champion, Prevc showed resilience and precision, turning a points deficit into a decisive win.
Prevc’s win also highlights the strength of Slovenia’s ski jumping tradition, as part of the famous Prevc family legacy in the sport. The crowd in Predazzo erupted as he secured the historic victory, capping a dramatic night at the Olympic ski jumping venue.
