Croatia Strengthens Diplomatic and Economic Ties with Qatar

Croatian ministers aim to forge deeper ties with Qatar, focusing on energy security and expanding business opportunities

In a bid to bolster Croatia’s political and economic footprint on the global stage, Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman and Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar embarked on a pivotal official visit to Qatar this week.

The trip, which included meetings with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, underscores the growing significance of this bilateral relationship.

At the heart of the discussions was energy security, with Croatia seeking to position itself as a reliable partner in diversifying energy supply to the region.

The ministers highlighted opportunities for Croatian firms to thrive in Qatar’s booming sectors, including defence, pharmaceuticals, and ICT.

The highlight of the visit was the Croatian-Qatari Economic Forum, where representatives from both nations explored avenues to strengthen economic cooperation, fostering new partnerships between business leaders.

With global energy challenges at the forefront, the visit signals a shared commitment to collaboration and innovation.
