Edis Ražanica Appointed as New Director of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Bank Association

The Board of the Banks Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BABiH) , at its 14th meeting, unanimously decided to appoint Mr. Edis Ražanica as the new Director of the Association.

This decision was ratified at the Association’s Assembly held in December 2023.

With 18 years of managerial experience in the banking sector, Mr. Ražanica has honed his expertise in crucial banking segments. His areas of proficiency include risk management, business with corporates and individuals, managing business networks, enhancing the quality of portfolios, and overall banking operations. Additionally, he brings extensive experience from his tenure at the Banking Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a supervisor in the banking sector, focusing on the management of non-deposit financial institutions and joint functions.

Mr. Ražanica, an alumnus of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Sarajevo, is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in banking and holds a certification as an internal auditor. He is fluent in both English and German.

“It is an honour and pleasure to take on the role of Director of the Association of Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which represents all banks operating within the territory, including development banks. Moving forward, we will focus our efforts on strengthening collaboration with relevant institutions, fervently advocating for the banking sector’s interests, and intensifying connections among banks through the implementation of common projects and activities. Furthermore, we are committed to creating a positive business environment and societal benefits by promoting corporate social responsibility and supporting initiatives that encourage responsible business practices, as well as focusing on client and employee welfare,” said Mr. Ražanica.

The outgoing Director, Berislav Kutle, concluded his tenure with a well-deserved retirement after over forty years in the banking sector. The Chairman of the Assembly, on behalf of all member banks, expressed gratitude for his service and extended best wishes for his future.
