Community For A Better Living

A responsible partner and employer on 18 European markets, Austria’s UNIQA Insurance Group has a tradition dating back more than two centuries and today represents a community for a better living comprising over 16 million clients. One of the leading insurance companies in Austria and among the TOP 5 insurance companies in Central and Eastern Europe, UNIQA has positioned itself at the very top of the Serbian market since its 2006 arrival in the country

As a leader of innovation, UNIQA is a brand that’s trusted in Serbia by more than 800,000 individual and corporate clients. The company is a leader in the areas of Bancassurance, Travel Insurance, Household Insurance and Health Insurance, with a network of over 1,000 health facilities. With constant investments in innovation and digitalisation, UNIQA is the only player in the sector that has a complete online insurance process (from initiating an offer, via purchasing a policy and paying the premium, to claims registration and assessment), with a wide network of branches and availability nationwide throughout Serbia.

UNIQA Insurance, as part of the Southeast Europe (SEE) region, has strong support in terms of further standardisation and process automation, the improvement of customer relations and the continuation of stable and sustainable business development. The SEE region, which includes Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia, is the third largest group of companies within UNIQA Customers & Market International, with a premium of 300 million euros and close to 1,600 employees. The SEE group of countries represents great growth and development potential through improved regional cooperation, digitalisation, customer orientation and innovation.

In addition to its focus on client needs, at the core of the UNIQA 3.0 strategy is sustainability, which is achieved by creating the best solutions for the protection of the environment and the wellbeing of society. In 2020, UNIQA Group was the first insurance company in Austria to issue “green” bonds worth 200 million euros, which will be invested in climate and environmental protection projects. UNIQA is also the first insurance company in Austria to become a member of the “Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance” of global investors in the banking and insurance sector, which was launched by the United Nations with the aim of providing an active contribution to the international exchange of information and sustainability strategies. UNIQA Insurance in Serbia, following the Group strategy, also implements local initiatives to contribute to the community, including the planting of more than 4,500 seedlings throughout the SEE region, as well as launching numerous energy efficiency and environmental protection initiatives.

UNIQA in Serbia also implements various CSR initiatives and support projects focused on health, culture, sports, education and ecology. Over the past 17 years, UNIQA has invested more than 140 million dinars in humanitarian and socially responsible initiatives. Its commitment to the community for a better and healthier living for all people has been recognised, as confirmed by numerous awards, including Corporate Super Brand, Top Serbian Brand, the award of London-based magazine World Finance and the double award of the European Business Awards for the best company in Serbia when it comes to growth strategy and client relations.
