Canadian LEADER Program Sparks Entrepreneurial Flame in Serbia

From vision to venture – how Canada’s elite business school lit the way for 400 Serbian entrepreneurs

In a landmark celebration at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian LEADER Programme marked a decade of empowering local entrepreneurs with world-class business acumen.

Run by instructors from the prestigious Ivey Business School (Western University, Canada), this initiative has guided nearly 400 Serbian professionals to launch or scale ventures across industries—from food to fintech.

The anniversary conference, themed “Artificial Intelligence, Leadership and Entrepreneurship: Shaping the Future Together”, gathered innovators and leaders to explore how AI and inclusive leadership are reshaping business.

Organised by CANSEE, in partnership with the Canadian Embassy and Serbia’s Centre for Digital Transformation, the event spotlighted how global standards in entrepreneurship can transform local economies.

Mirjana Dončić Biton, executive director of CANSEE, emphasized that Serbia is part of the global landscape as she marked the 10th cohort of the program.

She noted that with artificial intelligence now at the heart of the curriculum, the initiative is equipping businesses of all sizes to operate more intelligently, efficiently, and in greater connection with the world.
