Zaha Hadid Architects and Bureau Cube Partners Win Competition for New Nikola Tesla Museum

Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Museum to relocate to a larger, historic site

The international competition for the design of the new Nikola Tesla Museum building in Belgrade, Serbia, has concluded, with Zaha Hadid Architects and Bureau Cube Partners emerging as the winners. The Serbian government announced the decision following the competition’s closure on 17 December.

The museum will be relocated to the historic Milan Vapa paper factory, later used as Jugošped’s headquarters, in Belgrade. This move will expand the museum’s space from 250 square meters to nearly 6,000 square meters, allowing it to better accommodate visitors and showcase Tesla’s legacy.

The competition, which ran from 14 October to 17 December, attracted 46 submissions from around the world. In 2024, the museum recorded over 180,000 visitors, the highest number in its history, underscoring the need for a larger and more modern facility.
