North Macedonia and Serbia Agree on Joint Gas Pipeline Construction

North Macedonia and Serbia have signed a memorandum to build a 70-kilometer gas pipeline, with an annual capacity of 14 billion cubic meters of natural gas

This agreement, formalized during a meeting between Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski in Skopje, sets the foundation for a new energy interconnector between the two nations. The initiative aims to strengthen energy cooperation and security in the region.

Prime Minister Mickoski stressed the shared goal of EU integration, noting that regional connectivity, particularly in energy, is key to advancing European membership criteria.

He also underscored the importance of cooperation in addressing the broader challenges facing the Western Balkans, reaffirming the countries’ commitment to regional stability and progress.
