Once-Mighty Rakovica Motor Industry in Serbia Now Owned by Miodrag Kostić and MK Group

Industrija motora Rakovica, once a towering figure in the industry in Serbia, has found new ownership under Miodrag Kostić and his MK Group

The company has been controlled for the past two years by Batting Limited, a firm registered in Cyprus.

According to records from the Cypriot business registry, Luka Bjeković, who serves as the director of Batting Limited, is also the head of MK Energy and the chief figure in MK Group’s mergers and acquisitions division. Bjeković spearheaded the acquisition of IMR’s assets from businessman Zvonko Gobeljić.

This acquisition marks a significant shift for the Rakovica Motor Industry, with its assets now held by one of the region’s most influential businessmen, Miodrag Kostić, through his expansive MK Group

In 2022, Batting Limited took over Gobeljić’s firm, the City Construction Institute, which is the formal owner of the Rakovica Motor Industry complex.

This change has been noted in the Serbian Business Registers Agency’s register of beneficial owners. Since 2022, Zvonko Gobeljić is no longer listed as the real owner of the City Construction Institute, with Miodrag Kostić now registered as the actual owner.
