Vučić Focuses on Energy and AI in Talks with IMF Director

Vučić and Georgieva emphasize energy, digitalization, and AI as key drivers of Serbia’s economic growth.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in New Delhi, highlighting that responsible macroeconomic policies, supported by the IMF, have helped Serbia build a strong protective system in a challenging global environment. The discussion focused on energy as a pillar of development, digitalization, and the rapid growth of artificial intelligence, as well as their impact on the labor market.

Vučić also attended the AI Expo at the Artificial Intelligence Summit, emphasizing that Serbia’s participation strengthens the country’s international position and opens doors to new investments and partnerships.

He stressed that technological development and AI are key to long-term economic growth, modernization, and improving citizens’ quality of life.

The president expressed gratitude for the IMF’s confidence in Serbia and underlined the country’s commitment to investing in knowledge, infrastructure, and innovation to remain competitive in the era of new technologies.
